Neighbours party hearty at BBQ

More than 100 residents and guests had a great time at the second annual mid-summer BBQ organized by Bayshore Neighbours Association. The excellent Too Drunk To Fish Band featuring Lorraine Davis provided live entertainment that got many people up and dancing.

Allison and Dave show how it's done.

Joe can't resist the country music . . .

. . . but enjoys it much more when Doris joins him.

Curtis and Mercedes slow the pace down.

Robert has all the right moves.

Allison, a friend, Norlene and Curtis make a foursome for fun.

Hazel and Jim take a spin on the dance floor.

Joe surprises his neighbours by sitting in on the drums with the band.

Jim gets ready to serve a burger to Paul while Norlene, Henny and Barb are ready to offer sides and fixings down the line.

Ken and Hazel grill burgers, sausages and hot dogs for the crowd.

Doris is ready with cole slaw and potato salad.

If there had been a prize for the best-dressed, James would have won, hands down.

Dorothy took home the riches in the 50/50 draw.

Former resident Willie who still helps us with poster creation is presented with flowers and wine by Jocelyne.

Maryann (centre) is congratulated by Jocelyne and Tyler for her role in organizing the BBQ.

Don introduces the BBQ organizing committee, from the left, Hazel, who served as chair, Jocelyne, Sue, Maryann, Ken, Tiny and Helen.

Special thanks go to Guardian Property Management, SPG Engineering, Class Act Dinner Theater, Ginger & Co. Beauty Salon, Price Chopper, Shoppers Drug Mart, Willie Robb and residents who donated more than their time.
